I purchased this TV a few years back, in San Antonio. This TV was great, but after a while I had some issues. When it was transported to my new apartment I installed the TV and powered it on. I only got a blinking green and red light. I called several shops around town and I got estimates ranging from $450 to $3,000. I also found out that NEC only services in Dallas, Austin, and Houston, so the authorized dealers wanted me to pay $150.00 for shipping. NEC wanted me to pay for shipping plus $135.00 just to evaluate the TV. After doing extensive research I found out that I only needed to rest the TV. To do this you plug in the TV to the outlet and you hold down the power button and the input button simultaneously. This will reset the main board. This bit of information saved me hundreds of dollars. It worked fine until it was dropped by the movers, then the plasma screen cracked. I have read hundreds of blog postings where people are having the rest issue and no one wants to talk about the solution. I hope this helps you guys out.
